We have two gorgeous rhino births that occurred during the last month of 2018!

Great joy from Lisieux (FR) where the very first daughter of Southern White Rhino Beth was born. The little lady, whose exact date of birth is not known at the moment, is now 1 month and half old. She remains behind the scenes bonding with her mum Beth. Beth came in 2016 from England where she was not able to breed: the EEP Coordinator chose for her a different place to live. Beth’s meeting with the French Bull Chris made the rest. This little female calf is of great importance, since both her mum and dad never produced calves before.

On 30 December 2018, Southern White Rhinos Keren Peles gave birth to her second calf and the 31st for Ramat Gan (IL). The new rhino is a female and joins one of the biggest herd of the EEP. Keren Peles is very protective of her little lady and she didn’t allow the baby’s dad, bull Atari (who is almost 40 years old!), to come too close to them. The new baby will receive a name in the weeks to come.

Tanganyika Wildlife Park, located in Kansas (USA), received in October 2018 from San Diego Safari Park (California, USA) Indian Rhino Monica, 4 years old. Monica is the very first rhino calf conceived through Artificial Insemination to survive early childhood. She is of great importance, since her dad is a bull that died few years prior of her conception and never produced calves!
