North Carolina Zoo (USA) and father Stormy stroke back again.
On 13 July 2018 Southern White Rhino Kit gave birth to a healthy baby rhino girl, only 11 days after her own mum, Linda, gave birth to the other rhino baby girl of the Zoo.
We are absolutely happy for these two rhino births and very surprised since it is very hard that a mother-daughter White Rhino pair could ever give birth in the same place. Usually, the mothers tends to suppress the daughters’cycle since it’s a protection for the species. In this case, things went very different, probably because the Keeper team did a good job in changing the dynamics between the females of the herd.
We are waiting to know if the other two Southern White Rhino females, Natalie and Abigail, could be confirmed pregnant as well.
In the meantime, Stormy gets an applause from all of us!
