Indian rhino Jhansi gave birth to a stillborn calf on Monday 19 September 2016 in Berlin (DE). Things were not going well during her labour, infact her baby did not survive.

At the moment, we have no ufficial statement.

Jhansi was born back in July 1990 in San Diego – WAP (California, USA) and came in Berlin in 1994.

She gave birth three times before to healthy calf: in 1995, few mounths after her arrived from the USA, she gave birth to Betty (now a mum herself in Tierpark Berlin), in 2004 to Jacob/Kuba and in 2010 to Tarun.

Berlin zoo Staff assured that they won’t give up in their efforts for these endangered creatures!
