The first and most famous pregnancy is the one from Southern White Rhino Victoria that in San Diego is expecting her second calf. Victoria is one of the six females arrived in 2015 at Nikita Khan Rescue Center from South Africa. This six females should become surrogated mother for a precious Northern White Rhino’s embryo. Last year the expert’s team tried the artificial insemination of another female, Amani, but it seems that her pregnancy was not confirmed. It is with great surprise that, instead, Victoria was confirmed pregnant of 2 months, so her calf should be delivered by Summer in 2019. Victoria already had a calf, but unfortunately it did not survive.

In March Beekse Bergen (NL) announced, as well as the arrival of two Black Rhinos, also that the Southern White Rhino crash was about to grow by one because one of the females is pregnant! Since no name was given, we can only suspect that the mother is Dounia.

Just a bit after the birth of the third White Rhino, Sebastian, Virginia Safari Park announced that the other Southern White Rhino female, Kya, is expecting a calf that is due in July 2018!
