Exciting news from the Oceania’s Southern White Rhino crash: a new zoo, as announced earleir this year, joines the efforts to save these gentle giants!
Halls Gap Zoo, located in the Victoria State (in the south-eastern part of Autralia), received its first Southern White Rhino on Thursday 25 October 2018. The bull is called Kifaru and was born in Hamilton Zoo (New Zealand) in 2009. He has spent his last four years and half of life in another facility located in Canberra, Australia’s capital city.
Kifaru was a little nervous on his arrival, as you can see in this video .
But everything is ok now and he is enjoing his new life. He will be joined by another young rhino probably in March 2019.
