A gorgeous baby Indian rhino has just been born at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo (Florida, USA)!

Mom Jamie, 19 years old, delivered her baby boy during the night of Saturday 12 September 2020 without any complication. He and her new baby are bonding off scene and everything seems going perfectly.

While for Jamie this baby boy is the fourth calf, for dad Johnny, 30 years old, is the first one: it means that this baby brought more genetical diversity in the Indian rhino meta population in the USA so his birth is really a big event.
Johnny reached Jamie in 2014 and it took almost 6 years to succesfully become a dad, but it was worth the wait. The calf has not a name: he’ll be named in the future.

We’d like to deeply thank our dearest friend Robyn N. G. that, as always, kept us informed on Jamie’s pregnancy and has been the very first one to inform us about the birth!
