Southern White Rhinos Tim and Kayla in Fresno Chaffee (California,USA) had their second calf on 30 January 2019. The sex of the baby, a male, was not known until a few days ago when the vet and the keeper could confirm that it is a male!

He stays behind the scenes with his mom and will be viewable in the next months to come. He is the second for the rhino couple two years after the first one, Rudo. We would like to notice that it’s very rare that one breeding herd composed only by a male and a female works so well: usually at least 2-3 females are needed in the crash to have this kind of success in reproduction.
