It is with great sadness that we report the departure of white rhino lady Half Ear from Phoenix (USA). She lived at the zoo for almost 12 years surviving her friend Notch that died in 2011.

Half Ear was euthanized on 22 November because of her decline in health. Recently she almost recovered from an acute neurological issue, but her decline in health was also referred to decrease of appetite, loss of weight and reduced mobility.

Half Ear was born 45 years ago.
