We are very sad to report that White Rhino lady Macite  died in late October 2016. Aubudon Nature Institute (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA) was her home since 1999 where she was so good cared that she lived till the venerable age of 53 years!

Macite came in order to stimulate breeding between the White rhino resident pair Saba and Yvonne. That worked, because Yvonne gave birth to a male calf back in 2003.

In April 2014 the trio welcomed another young female, Bonnie. You can see her arrival here
