We have this fantastic news for 2020! In January next year Wales should welcome its very first baby Eastern Black Rhino. Folly Farm Adventure has announced that its younger Eastern Black Rhino female, Dakima, (the only one breeding) is expecting her first calf. The young female was introduced succesfully last year to the resident male (the young bull Nkosi) in October.

This is a very good news for the Eastern Black Rhino meta-population: a new breeding couple can only confirm the self-sustainability of it!

In fact we have to remember that 5 rhinos from the European meta-population are departing for Rwanda and another one from the UK (Zambezi) will be sent in Tanzania, in the same place where Eric from San Diego (USA) is.
