Perfectly on World Rhino Day, Saturday 22 September 2018, Eastern Black Rhino mom Maburi chose to give birth to her third calf.

It is the first time that Berlin Zoo recorded the rhino birth, as you can see in the linked video.

The calf is an healthy female, still unnamed, that weights approximately 20 kilos.

After Kigoma in 2010 and Hodari in 2014 mom Maburi and dad Jasper finally had a female calf. At Berlin Zoo now 3 Eastern Black Rhinos female live: with Maburi and her daughter is also Kilaguni, who is the oldest Easter Black Rhino in Europe. Dad Jasper is at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (UK) since March 2018, probably in a retirement condition.
