A few hours ago Blank Park Zoo (Iowa, USA) announced with great expectation that Eastern Black Rhino couple Ayana and Kyano are expecting their second calf in less than three years. Keepers noticed that Ayana was gaining a lot of weight during the past months and confirmed that she was expecting a calf!

She’s due really soon, in fact the most probable date is late February 2019. At the park resides their first calf, Tumani, that is 2 and a half years old. She will be probably be transferred to another facility to make room for the new calf. We hope that she itself will start a family on its own.
