Kolmarden welcomed a wonderful Southern White Rhino girl on 6 October 2018, as you can see in this video. Experienced mom Imfolozi gave birth to the little lady in a few minutes, without any complication.

This is a gorgeous news, since Imfolozi in 2016 had a problem with her last calf, that did not survive the birth. The birth process also put a risk on the life of Imfolozi.

Fortunately we are happy to report that she made it and gift us another healthy baby. The calf is a female, and this is a wonderful news for the European Southern White Rhino breeding program, because this year amongst this program only 4 females were born.

The baby’s dad is experienced bull Banyari. The facility also host another female called Namakula: it could be a good news if also her could give birth to a baby too.
