The Wilds Facility in Ohio (USA) announces that its Southern White Rhino herd has just grown up by one. The calf is already the fourth to be born at the Facility in less than ten weeks: absolutely a very big achievement!
The baby is a male calf, strong and healthy, and is the third calf for mum Evey, 11 years. His father is the bull Roscoe. The name choosen for the little calf is “Gordon”, in honor of “the founder of the company which has generously supported The Wilds’ education programs”.
Gordon was born on 19 December 2017 and he is already the 20th baby Southern White Rhino born at The Wilds.
He joins his three half-siblings, since all the calves born share the same dad: the older is Faith, a female born in October, then there are Gilmanand Tebogo born in November.
