As you know, there are two Indian rhino ladies that are waiting for babies: they are Manjula form Pilsen and Namaste from Rotterdam!

Indian Rhino Manjula was born in 2008 in Berlin, to parents Betty and Belur, and came to Pilsen in June 2010. She had her first baby, a female called Maruska, in 2014 (she now resides in France). Manjula and her mate, Baabuu, are waiting for their second calf together. Since it is really hard to predict a Rhino birth, we can only try to make a guess. Mating took place, according to Zoo Officials, on 8 October 2015, so the baby is expecting near soon, probably in the next week. You can keep an eye on mum-to-be Manjula trough the webcam Zoo had installed                                            http://www.zooplzen.cz/o-nas/webkamery/

Namaste is from Rotterdam and is an experienced mum. She was born in 1991 in Stuttgart and gave birth to six healthy calves before. She was paired with Gujurat, from Planckendael, for the first tima back in 2015. Mating took place on 28 October 2015, so it is probably that the birth is placed a little bit later than Manjula’s one.
