Veszprem (HU) welcomed another Southern White Rhino making its herd the biggest of the country!

Makoubu, this is the name of the 5th rhino, is a 22 years old lady who is of English origins. She was born in Whipsnade in 1994 and lived there since 2009. Makoubu hadn’t been able to get pregnant, not even with Artificial Insemination, so it was decided that the best way to make her breed was making a transfer. She left England to reach The Netherlands, where she met male Miguelìn. Things went so perfect that Makoubu succesfully gave birth to a healthy male calf in 2011.

Makoubu arrived in her new home on 9 June 2017, joining other two females, mother Rebeca and daughter Naruna, and two bulls, Pablo and Rafiki.
