Great joy for us all : in Cleveland (Ohio, USA) the first baby rhino arrived safely on 7 February 2018.
Eastern Black Rhino mum Kibibbi has done a perfect job and her baby seems strong and healthy. The two will be strictly monitored behind the scene where they are not visible to the public. This should protect their bond which will be essential for the calf’s survival and growth.
In a video released by Zoo Official, the little baby is seen a little trembling on the tiny legs, while mum chews relaxed some branches.

The sex of the calf is not known at the moment.
We believed that it could be a female, so we assumed that for sure in our stork image. In case the baby turn out to be a male, well, don’t think hard of us 🙂 !
