Huge achievement for Tallin (EE) and great joy for World Rhino!

On 3 June 2017 at 15:09 Eastern Black Rhino Kibibi, 7 years old, gave birth to a perfect and healthy female calf. The little lady is not only the first for Rhino couple Kibibi and Kigoma, but also the first for the Facility.

Mum and calf are now behind the scene and they will probably be there for some time, in order to bond properly.

Tallin welcomed the young pair in 2013. They grew up near one other and, once they reached the sexual maturity, Keepers tried all their best to make them liked each other. Kibibi and Kigoma mated for the first time in December 2015. The second try, in March 2016, was the right one.
