The very first birth of the Year for Toronto Zoo (CA) is very big!

Indian Rhino Ashakiran, affectionately known “Asha”, has given birth on 4 January 2018 at 11:45 to a perfect baby boy. The two are strictly monitored by Keepers, since the very first days are very critical for Mum and calf; they have to develope a strong bond that will last for more than 2 years.

Ashakiran and her partner Vishnu are second-time parents: their first calf is called Nandu and he is still at the Facility. He will be transferred to another Facility in the months to come.
