Almost one year after the passing of beloved George, another Southern White Rhino calls Henry Vilas home!
His name is Harmon and is a healthy 2 years old male. He arrived this week from Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Florida, USA) where he was born and hand raised. His mum is Kayla that in Fresno Chaffee (California, USA) gave birth in January 2017 to her second calf, Rudo. Unfortunately, Kayla’s first child was not accepted by his mum and keepers took the matter in their own hands.

Thanks to the community, that back in November 2016 raised funds to renovate the rhino exhibit, Henry Vilas is able to continue its contribution to rhino conservation efforts. It is working closely with the SSP to provide a good home for Harmon and hopefully to get him a mate in the future!
