Indian Rhino Quetta, 24 years old, during the night of Saturday 7 January 2017 gave birth to a healthy male calf!

He has been named Orys and both him and mum are doing well spending time to bond preciously.

Quetta’s pregnancy last 492 days, according to Zoo Press release, and her little baby, the fourth for her, weighted few days after the birth, reached 68 kg on the scales.

Basel zoo (CH) is now home to 4 Indian Rhinos, besides Quetta and Orys, there are a female called Saar and a bull, Jaffna, who is Orys’s dad.
